As the Regional Manager Enterprise Markets for J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, Bruce Smitham manages 19 states and 32 distributors throughout the United States. With 25 years of wine industry sales and management experience, Bruce has established a reputation as a hard-working, detail-oriented manager known for building successful relationships with distributors and the trade. Bruce was born in Los Angeles and raised in Northern & Southern California and attended San Diego State University & Mesa College. Bruce began his wine career at Constellation Brands as a Sales Representative and was promoted to Designated Sales Trainer. Bruce then moved on to Southern Wine & Spirits distributor as a Sales Representative and was promoted to Key Accounts Manager Fine Wines in Los Angeles traveling to numerous wine regions. In 2001, Bruce joined the team at J. Lohr as Southern California Area Manager; he grew the region base in all channels. In 2011, Bruce was promoted to Southern California Senior Area Manager where he mentored and later helped manage the Western Division team. In 2017, Bruce was promoted to the newly created and current Regional Manager Enterprise Markets position. In this role, Bruce manages every aspect of sales for J. Lohr in each of the 19 states he oversees. Bruce lives in Carmel Valley (San Diego) with his wife Bo and their 2 daughters; Naomi and Victoria. Outside of work, Bruce enjoys cycling, ocean swimming, hiking and travel. He has been active in the community by coaching youth soccer and volunteering at school events.
