Chef Hermann joins Waldorf Astoria Park City with over 30 years of culinary experience. As the child of restaurant-owning parents, Schaefer’s passion for food developed at a young age. Born and raised in Austria, where he began his career with a three-year apprenticeship at the Grand Hotel Sauerhof, one of Austria’s finest five-star luxury hotels. In 1994, he moved to the United States and has since worked in various roles at a number of hotels and restaurants, including the Anaheim Hilton and Towers and Bistango Restaurant in Orange County. Most recently, he served as Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage at the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa.
