Matt Nauman

ABOUT

Matt Nauman is a featured speaker at the Park City Wine Festival.
Matt Naumann has deployed his skills in every facet of the wine industry, including vineyard development and management, winemaking, winery strategic planning, and national branding for multiple game-changing producers. The proof is in his body of work, one that’s built on vision, instinct, and execution.

Under his guidance, multiple winery accolades have been received, including features in Wine Business Monthly’s Annual Hot Brands Issue (Wade Cellars), Top Restaurant Brands in Wine & Spirits annual survey (Failla), The Wall Street Journal (Wade Cellars), The San Francisco Chronicle’s Top 21 Wineries to Visit (Newfound), Food & Wine Game Changers (Newfound), Jancis Robinson’s Wine of the Week (Newfound), and many other leading industry publications.

Most recently, Naumann developed Wade Cellars, owned by NBA icon Dwyane Wade. As president and the first strategic hire for the brand launch in the US in 2019, Naumann provided vision for the wine program, fully executed the developed strategy, and cemented the foundation for long-term brand success. He is currently the director of
winemaking for the upstart brand Le Carenage, owned by New York Yankees pitcher Marcus Stroman.

Newfound Wines captures the essence of Naumann’s extensive experience in the wine industry, allowing him to craft wines drawn from two decades of expertise and inspiration. Each wine is based on deep convictions of honesty in representation of time and place. As committed growers, the wines from Newfound also consider planetary impact and focus on grape varietals that can withstand the extremities of a changing climate. This includes promoting the
use of drought-tolerant plant material to minimize irrigation and focusing on varietals with a high level of disease resistance in support of organic agriculture.

Naumann fervently believes in the power of wine’s cultural impact and its magical ability to connect people.
